Examinations and Annual Check Ups

Annual check ups are extremely important for our veterinarians to ensure that your pet remains healthy.
During the exam, the veterinarian will carefully look at your animal's teeth, eyes, and ears, listen to its heart and lungs, inspect its skin and hair, and look for any other lumps or bumps. This is also a great opportunity for you as an owner to discuss any health or behavioural issues you may be seeing with your pet.
We set aside half an hour for each examination so that you will not feel rushed and we can offer you the highest level of care.

An annual exam will help the veterinarian track your pet's weight and determine if it is staying at a healthy weight or offer assistance in helping you develop a plan for getting your pet to lose weight or gain it.

Life stages
Regular examinations help ensure that your pet is staying healthy throughout each stage of its life. Health and nutritional needs will change as your pet continues to age and it is important to stay apprised of these changes.

Equine Pre-Purchase Examinations

Pre-purchase examinations can give buyers ease-of mind when purchasing a new horse.

Exams take about two hours and can be scheduled at your farm or at the clinic.

In a pre-purchase exam, we will thoroughly examine your prospective horse's mouth, nose, eyes, and musculoskeletal system. We will listen to its heart and lungs before and after excercise. The horse's legs will be thoroughly examined and we will inspect its gait at walk, trot, and canter as well as after joint flexions. Radiographs can be done if requested by the purchaser.
We will also observe the horse's behaviour during the exam and comment on any behavioural concerns such as herd boundness or problems with handling.

Taking into account the buyer's intentions for the horse, we will be able to give you an accurate reccommendation if the horse will fulfil your needs.
