Kitten Information

Deworming

Kittens should be dewormed at 4, 6, and 8 weeks. Only those dewormers available from your veterinarian are effective.

Vaccinations

Kittens should make a visit to the veterinarian at 8 weeks of age. At this appointment, they will have a full physical exam to determine if there are any health concerns.
At 8 weeks, kittens will receive a vaccine for feline rhinotracheitis, calici and panleukopenia viruses (HCP).
At 12 weeks, kittens will return to have the HCP vaccine booster and will receive a Rabies vaccine. The HCP will now be good for 3 years and the Rabies will be good for 1 year.

Nutrition

Kittens have very specific nutritional needs that need to be taken into account to ensure that they develop into a healthy adult cat. We stock Royal Canin Veterinary Exclusive pet foods that are formulated to target specific health and dietary requirements. Kittens should eat a kitten development food for the first year of life.

We provide in-clinic veterinary care for horses and small animals, as well as mobile care for horses throughout the Thompson Okanagan. Emergency service is provided when the doctors are available via a 24 hr answering service.
